Interdisciplinary Research and Teaching at the Gutenberg School of Management and Economics
With 20 professors and two junior professors the Gutenberg School of Management and Economics, part of the Department of Law, Management and Economics, is one of the biggest schools at the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz. Over 2,700 students are enrolled at the GSME, studying for a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) in Management and Economics, a B. Sc. in Business and Economics Education or under the former system (which is no longer available for new students) for a diploma degree in Business Economics, Economics or Business and Economics Education. A further 1,000 students are enrolled at the school studying for minor subjects.
Students are able to experience a wide variety of working methods thanks to the school’s diverse approaches to research and teaching which cover all areas of business and economics. These approaches are further enhanced through close collaboration with the department’s school of law.
Thanks to its central location, the department is just a stone’s throw from the University’s main facilities, adding to the unique character of the campus at Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz. From here, students can gain an insight into other areas of study completely different to their own, helping to break down the barriers between subject areas.
